Drop-In Tarot Reading

In Conjunction with our current exhibition In the Hot Seat

In conjunction with the current exhibition In the Hot Seat, join Alice Star Crowley for drop-in Tarot readings from 6-8p on July 5 (during the Republic Bank First Friday Hop) and 1-3p on July 6. Crowley will transform the front of KMAC’s lobby into an intimate parlor, where visitors will have a chance to be “in the hot seat” as she provides insight on aspects of their past, present, and future.

Esoteric Tarot is a long-lasting tradition that dates as far back as the 16th century. A form of divination, practitioners can help an individual discern the future or veiled truths from the past or present. The practice of esoteric Tarot conjures images of dimly lit parlors in which the reader and participant sit across from one another in a shared moment of clarity, spiritualism, and vulnerability.

This is the first in a series of pop-up programs that will take place during In the Hot Seat and explore the varied functions and connotations of the chair.
