In-Person Camps

KMAC is excited to get back to our in-person summer art camps! Read the information below to learn about changes to our camp structure and new safety protocols.

Basic Camp Info:

  • Each camp will have 8 to 12 total campers

  • All camps are open to ages 7-11 (Find information about teen experiences here)

  • Camps run from 9:00a to 4:00p each day

  • Drop-off is 8:30-9a, pick-up is 4-4:30p

  •  Limited half-day spots are available; for more information, call KMAC at 502-589-0102 or email education@kmacmuseum.org

Pricing:

  • $225 for KMAC members, $250 for non-members

  • Email education@kmacmuseum.org for a member discount code, or to use your credit from last year's camp cancellations!

Cancellation Policy:

  • If you cancel more than 2 weeks before the start of your week of camp, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administration fee. 

  • Cancellations less than 2 weeks in advance will not be refunded

  • If KMAC has to cancel camp for any reason,  at any time, participants will receive a full refund

Safety Protocols:

  • Each camper will sit at their own table with their own set of art supplies. Siblings from the same household may sit at the same table.

  • Campers will have temperature checks on arrival

  • Masks are required while indoors

  • Classroom sanitation will be performed throughout the day by dedicated staff

Lunch and snacks:

  • Campers will bring their own lunch, water bottle, and morning/afternoon snacks

  • KMAC will not provide any snacks or drinks. Campers can refill water bottles at the sink in the classroom.

  • Lunch will take place outside, weather permitting. On rainy days, campers will have lunch in the classroom with windows open or outdoors under a canopy.

Sculptacular: Sculpture and Clay Camp
June 21-25
Ages 7-11
Full Day 9a-4p (contact KMAC about half-day options)

 

Get your hands messy with this 3D camp! Campers will be introduced to sculpture artists and artworks and be inspired to create their own pieces of art. They will use a variety of clay techniques such as slab building, coil building, glazing techniques, and more. They will also work through engineering skills needed to sculpt with paper, wire, wood, and found objects.
 

Future of Craft Camp
July 19-23
Ages 7-11

Get inspired by KMAC’s 40th Anniversary exhibition featuring a variety of artists that work with many materials! Campers will be introduced to a variety of traditional craft processes but challenged to use them in new and exciting ways. Some Sci-Fi inspired projects may find their way into the equation too!
 

Art Exploration: Mixed Media Camp
July 5-9
Ages 7-11
Full Day 9a-4p (contact us about half-day options)


Experiment and explore the world of Art! Campers will be introduced to an array of media, such as fiber, paint, wood, dyes, paper, and printmaking. They will see how artists use different materials and techniques to get their Big Ideas out into the world. 
 

Crafting a Story Camp
Aug 2-6 
Ages 7-11
Full Day 9a-4p (contact us about half-day options)


Use your imagination to tell stories with art! Campers will be challenged to create their own stories and get inspired by classic tales. They will create characters, settings, and scenes out of clay, paper, fiber, ink, paint, and so much more.  Art can tell a story in so many different ways and campers will be challenged by different projects to explore the possibilities of visual art.
