Lonnie and Twyla Money's craft is steeped in the folk art tradition, but their brightly painted, often humorous animal carvings show a modern approach, and Fox with Chicken is the perfect example. What a great statement piece for the mantle or other focal point in your home! Handcarved, handpainted wood. Dimensions: 24"L x 4"W x 7"H.

Lonnie Money (East Bernstadt, KY) first started carving at the age of 12, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who was also a woodcarver who immigrated to the United States in 1883. Initially carving walking sticks, Money soon graduated to carving figures, as he was inspired by the animals on his family's rural farm. Lonnie and his wife Twyla work together as a team, he carving all the figures while Twyla finishes and applies the colors.
