Such a unique piece from Lonnie and Twyla Money, this mama woodpecker perches just outside her nest, keeping watch over her little ones. Wooden, handcarved and hand painted. Dimensions: 11"L x 11"H x 7"W

Lonnie Money (East Bernstadt, KY) first started carving at the age of 12, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who was also a woodcarver who immigrated to the United States in 1883. Initially carving walking sticks, Money soon graduated to carving figures, as he was inspired by the animals on his family's rural farm. Lonnie and his wife Twyla work together as a team, he carving all the figures while Twyla finishes and applies the colors.
