Chickens make up a large part of our menagerie of Lonnie and Twyla Money's wooden animal carvings! This slight smaller size of chunky chicken still packs a colorful, bold punch. Handcarved, each chicken is brightly painted with an orange beak, red comb and wattles, and a body which varies in color. *Other color options not pictured. Handcarved & painted. Each chicken varies slightly in size. Approximate measurements: 8.5"H x 7"L x 3"W.

Lonnie Money (East Bernstadt, KY) first started carving at the age of 12, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who was also a woodcarver who immigrated to the United States in 1883. Initially carving walking sticks, Money soon graduated to carving figures, as he was inspired by the animals on his family's rural farm. Lonnie and his wife Twyla work together as a team, he carving all the figures while Twyla finishes and applies the colors.
