Artist Bio
Born and educated in Europe and Israel, Julia has lived throughout Europe, but calls Louisville, Kentucky, home. A multidisciplinary designer and artist, she has sustained a visual arts practice spanning more than three decades.
As the founder and owner of Objects of Desire and Flõ galleries, she curated numerous exhibitions of contemporary art jewelry while developing her own line of sculptural jewelry, exhibited and collected nationally and internationally. Her current work explores the creative potential of unconventional materials, transforming them into design-driven wearable sculptures that blur the boundaries between object, sculpture, and adornment. Each piece embodies bold experimentation and an unapologetic sense of individuality.
Julia currently serves as Director of Retail Experience at KMAC Contemporary Art Museum, where she brings her background in art, design, and curation to shape an engaging, thoughtfully curated retail environment that reflects the museum's commitment to contemporary creative practice.
Through her work, Julia invites viewers to reconsider the role of adornment as more than ornament. She believes it can be both a work of art and a catalyst for connection, creating pieces that inspire curiosity, conversation, and personal expression.
