Artist Bio
Shauntrice Black is an emerging  contemporary artist exploring her Afro- Indigeneity heritage through a futurist  lens of radical imagination. Born and raised in Kentucky, her work bridges deeply disturbing traumas with broader cultural triumphs that demand visibility. Her work has been featured at the Speed Art Museum, Roots 101 African American Museum, Kennedy Center, and the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture & History, and Carnegie  Center for Art & History.  Shauntrice's practice draws from a lineage of oral traditions, visual symbolism, and spiritual practices. Her portfolio is a tactile experience that immerses viewers in profound narratives of displacement and realignment using found objects, textiles, natural elements, and historical  fragments.
