Private Adult Workshops

Looking for a team-building excursion or a fun evening out with friends? Book an

adult workshop for groups of 8 or more! These workshops are perfect for beginners

or anyone looking to be creative. Each workshop is 2 hours long and comes with

light snacks and wine in KMAC’s Education Studio. The cost is $45 a person

(exceptions highlighted below). Discounted prices for non-profit or groups bringing

their own snacks and drinks.

Screen Printing Basics

Explore the process of printmaking by creating stencils and screen printing on posters

and fabric. Each participant will receive a canvas tote bag, poster and tea towel for 

screen printing. Have more ideas? Bring a t-shirt, scarf or other fabric to experiment

with during the workshop! Up to 25 participants.

 

Introduction to Weaving

In this workshop, participants will learn basic weaving concepts and explore the process of designing with a loom and yarn. Participants will learn multiple weaving techniques and how to use weaving tools.  Participants will create their own design and make a small weaving to take home.   Up to 20 participants

Beginning Macrame

Learn basic knots, chains, braids and cords for the rope art of macrame. Each participant will combine these techniques to create a design and make their own small wall-hanging with rope to take home. Up 20 participants

 

Relief Printing Basics

Explore the process of relief printing by creating your own printing block. Each participant will receive a linoleum block and learn how to use traditional carving tools to turn their own design into a beautiful print. Each participant will have multiple papers and ink colors to choose from, as well as, a canvas bag to print on. Up to 25 participants

 

Basic Paper Quilling

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the traditional craft of paper quilling and explore the process of decorating with paper. Participants will learn multiple quilling techniques and how to use special tools.  Participants will create their own design and make a small paper sculpture to take home. Up to 15 participants ($25 each)

 

Handbuilding with Clay: Face Mugs

Create your own version of the traditional Face Jug by making a face mug.  Participants will learn multiple clay handbuilding techniques and how to use simple ceramic tools. Each person will make a mug that will by fired at KMAC and available for pickup three weeks after the class.  Up to 30 participants.

 

Introduction to Hand-Embroidery

In this workshop, participants will learn traditional hand embroidery and explore the process of designing with thread. Participants will learn multiple stitches and start working on their own embroidery sampler. Then, learn how to transfer designs onto fabric. Participants can create their own design or pick from a variety of pre-made patterns to begin their embroidery artwork. Up to 15 participants.

 

Handmade Journals

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to basic bookbinding techniques. You will make your own covers with special papers. You will learn some introductory skills with using awls, bookbinding needles, and stitches. Everyone will get to take home their handmade journal at the end of the evening. Up to 15 participants
