Events Associate

$16/hour

Hours vary depending on museum events schedule, average of 5-10 hours per week

Reports to Visitor Services Manager and Events Manager

 

KMAC Contemporary Art Museum is located in Louisville's historic downtown on Museum Row. The Museum explores the relationship between art and craft by identifying art as the big idea and craft as the intersection between process, materials, and labor. Our goal is to educate and inspire while promoting a better understanding of art through exhibitions, education, and collections. 

 

General responsibilities: 

Ensuring positive guest experiences, assisting with setup and breakdown during events, executing a variety of tasks during events including welcoming, bussing, bartending, and gallery monitoring

 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness in public spaces

• Maintain security and safety throughout the museum

• Follow floor plans and accurately set up for events by moving tables, chairs, speakers, etc

• Greet guests and answer questions about specific events and the museum

• Follow procedures to accurately make and distribute alcoholic beverages

• Assist with sales for the bar and KMAC Shop

 

Job Requirements:

• Ability to interact with the public in a welcoming, informative, and diplomatic manner

• Ability to comfortably lift 50lbs and move chairs, tables, and speakers

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
