Based on the Ancient Greek symposia, a formal drinking event where participants talk about politics, poetry, and philosophy, the KMAC "502 Symposia" will feature short presentations (502 seconds to be exact) from diverse locals on an array of subjects. Sip on Old 502 Winery wines from your own hand-made blown stemless wine glass from Hyland Glass. The glass is yours to keep. 

Presenters:
Gil Reyes, Director of Development at Stage One Family Theatre and founder and Co-Artistic Director of Theatre [502]. TOPIC: "Strangers in a Room: Exploring Collective Imagining"

Eric Gurevich, Outreach Director at Old 502 Winery. TOPIC: "Kentucky Grapes and Local Business: Winemaking Over the 9" 

Casey Hyland, native Louisvillian and co-owner of Hyland Glass. TOPIC: "Forget the Glass, Just Give Me the Bottle: a Local Glassblower’s Thoughts On a Cup”

Aaron Jaffe, Professor of English and Director of the Commonwealth Center for Humanities and Society at the University of Louisville. TOPIC: “The Lingering Louche: Absinthe, the Green Demon of Alternative Modernity”

Stephen Schneider, Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the University of Louisville’s English Department. TOPIC: “Hangovers, Hairs of the Dog, and the Inevitability of Excess"
