ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Our artist-in-residence programs offer an unforgettable experience for you and your students. We will send a professional artist to your school to work directly with students to create an installation piece for the school and/or individual pieces to take home.

 

In-school residencies:

  • Five one-hour long sessions: $1,200 (designed to serve 5-32 students.)  Additional classes may be added for $850 each

  • Three one-hour long sessions: $810 (designed to serve 5-32 students.)  Additional classes may be added for $600 each

  • For schools outside of Jefferson County or more than 30 miles from KMAC, an additional mileage fee may be applied.

  • CERAMICS (K-12)  

Possible projects may be ceramic tiles, coil pots, mugs, and other hand building techniques.

  • PRINTMAKING (K-12)          

Possible projects may incorporate relief printing, intaglio, monotyping, and silkscreening.

  • MIXED MEDIA (K-12)

Possible projects may incorporate found objects, upcycling, and other mixed media techniques. 

  • FIBER (K-12)

Possible projects may incorporate weaving, fabric dying, sewing, embroidery, felting, and other fiber techniques. 

  • TRADITIONAL CRAFT (K-12)

Create art inspired by traditional Kentucky and Appalachian crafts. Possible projects may incorporate basketry, weaving, gourd art, clay, wood, and other materials. 

  • CREATE-YOUR-OWN! (K-12)

Work with KMAC staff to design your own in-school residency with a professional artist. Is there a theme or topic you would like to explore through art? We will work with you to craft a project around your specific needs.
