Girls Rock Louisville

Opening Reception: May 16, 2019   6 PM - 8 PM

Show Runs From May 16 - June 2, 2019

KMAC and Girls Rock Louisville are pleased to announce the Girls Rock Louisville Hall of Fame Project. Together, local mentors, artists, and current and former Girls Rock Louisville campers developed a critical and aesthetic understanding of the contributions of women and non-binary artists in music history. We view rock and roll as a way to forge our own artistic paths over a singular style or genre. The goal of this exhibition is to expand our community’s understanding of the formative roles women and non-binary musicians have played in our musical landscape. It is also a reflection of how these young artists have come to see themselves in music history, and how they will choose to rewrite it.
