KMAC COUTURE HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2014
July 5 - September 21, 2014
Brown-Forman  Gallery, Third Floor

Held on April 11, 2014, KMAC Couture featured 29 emerging and established regional artists who created unique wearable art for a runway show. The selection of pieces for KMAC Couture was based on originality, creativity, durability, and concept. Works in this exhibition highlight the variety of approaches and mediums utilized by the diverse artists.

The Museum presented the first KMAC Couture in 2013.   In keeping with KMAC's mission the runway show is a creative way to involve the community in support of innovative craft and design. The proceeds from this event support education and outreach programs.

The garments worn for the KMAC Couture event are avant garde wearable art creations that are highly unique and expertly crafted. These original hand-executed designs are constructed from both traditional fabrics and non-traditional materials.
