NATIVE AMERICAN ART MOBILE MUSEUM

About This Suitcase

This suitcase is a resource for students to more deeply understand the history of Kentucky and the peoples who lived here before European settlers. The work in this suitcase was made by contemporary Indigenous artists, some of whom live in Kentucky today. Native American art can be used for daily life, ceremonial purposes, or to share information and educate the viewer. New Native American art is being made every day using traditional and contemporary techniques. The goal of this suitcase is for students to explore Native American art by understanding the history that influenced it.
