Natural flax handmade high shrinkage paper over steel with freshwater pearls on a base metal chain. Lobster clasp. Paper is waxed to make water resistant. Necklace measures approximately 18”.

Jessica Beels (Louisville, KY) is a mixed media sculptor, installation artist, educator, and jeweler whose work often examines humans’ perception of and interaction with the world around us. Whether incorporating found common objects or unusual materials, her creative interpretation of materials invites viewers to step in to take a closer look. A recent transplant from Washington, D.C., Beels has sold her artwork in galleries and juried craft shows throughout the United States.
